Should you shot blast road plates before applying an anti skid coating?

The short answer is yes!

If you want the anti skid coating to last a long time you need to shot blast your road plates before applying any anti-skid coating.

In fact you need to go further than this...

The coating needs to be applied straight after shot blasting because if not, there is the chance that moisture may settle on the plates. This moisture may not be visible to the naked eye, however, not applying resin to a completely dry plate may result in the coating lifting off in patches after only a few months.

Does this sound familiar?

Some people just except this as the norm and keep paying to have plates re coated.

I have seen this many times over the years and that is why our process revolves around applying the anti skid coating within 3 hours of shot blasting.

By working to this process and using good quality products in the correct quantities ensures we always supply high quality long lasting anti skid road plates.

These plates are suitable for hire companies who expect to get a lot of use out of the plates. We can cater for low and high volumes and because we operate from the Midlands we can offer a nationwide service. Please contact us for a quotation.
