Heavy Duty Acrow Props

Types of Acrow Props

At Heaton Products we currently supply two types of acrow props; standard duty and heavy duty. However, unless you're aware of the differences it is hard to tell from just a visual inspection. These steel supports tend to look very similar, but there are small but vital differences to the two types.

Most of the acro props we supply to individuals and trade are standard duty which are of a high quality with a good paint finish. They are designed and built with longevity in mind and will withstand long-term abuse from shoring without a fuss. We have never had any issues with any of the jack posts we supply and we never will expect to receive any, as long as they are used to the manufacturer's specifications and advice. We're that confident with their reliability.

With that being said, you might be wondering if we can supply a slightly harder-wearing acrow support for more long-term or repeated usage. This we can accomodate.

Heavy-duty Acrow Props

Standard acrow props are generally manufactured from three sections of tube.  This may sound confusing because from the outside it looks obvious to be two lengths of steel tube; not three.  However, the threaded part of the tube is actually friction welded to a seperate lighter gauge tube.  This enables the cost to remain low and still produces a very strong acro support.  Acrow Props can be produced from just two lengths of tube because one end of the tube can be rolled to create the thread.

The type of tube used to create this is a heavier gauge steel, from a single length, without a friction weld.

While some companies may suggest that obtaining these heavier duty acro props is more difficult, we can supply these heavier duty teleposts if required, and the price difference is relatively small compared to standard duty acrow props.
